"Facilitate" needs to be in there at least twice; also remember the education-specific buzzwords like "teaching and learning" :-)

Yeah, I hate it when people use the term 'teaching and learning' especially when it's preceded by facilitate.

a lot of people on here are guilty of referring to the term 'teaching and learning', including that bundle of joy localzuk earlier today....sorry to single you out pal, but it's in my memory and really irked me to say the least.

If any of you read private eye, theres a great little section called 'britspeak' where readers send in examples of management-speak gobbledigook. funnily enough most of those that are printed seem to be job adverts for positions within the bbc....funny that.

That's Birtspeak, actually, and reflects the legacy of management-speak still pervasive in the higher echelons of the BBC as a result of John Birt's time as DG of that organization. That's why all of the extracts used in Private Eye are taken from BBC publications, be it job adverts or vision statements.

What I find slightly troubling is the vision statement published in PE a couple of weeks or so ago about cross-media confluence, and that it made perfect sense to me!

Thanks for correcting me, i must admit there was one job advert for a media position that i also understood and found the description quite reasonable in it's description!!!
