mattx Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 How stupid is this ? The said laptop - LAN driver states its a Realtek RTL8139/810x So you would think to get it to boot to Ghost 8.0 so I can take a snaphot - the NDIS2 DOS driver would work - Errrrr no. Under Windows XP its seen as the Realtek RTL8139/810x - but to get it to ghost I have had to use the 8168 NDIS2 DOS driver. How stupid is that ? Someone like to explain why ? I wish someone would write a generic DOS driver for all ethernet cards / chipsets.
SYNACK Posted December 6, 2007 Report Posted December 6, 2007 Have you tried the 3Com universal NDIS driver http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/nic/mba.htm it apparently uses the PXE environment on the card to access it.
mattx Posted December 6, 2007 Author Report Posted December 6, 2007 Thats something to look at Synack, I'll investigate that for future reference.
