One of the schools i support in Cambridgeshire has received an email from West Northampton  shire pen records.</p><p> </p><p>
They are unsure if this is spam\phishing etc everything from the forwarded email (awaiting for original email as attachment to confirm if genuine) appears to be above board. But it contains a link to egress secure reader.</p><p> </p><p>
Does PEN Record mean something else other than Pen test for network security. Is anyone able to shed any further light on this before i give school my opinion\instruction</p><p> </p><p>

We're seeing connectivity drops on a regular (not-quite-daily) basis at two of our sites in Lincolnshire.  Both are affected at the same time.</p><p> </p><p>
We raised a previous ticket and the finger was pointed at BT kit past the local exchange, but it's still an issue.</p><p> </p><p>

I've set up the behaviour classification section with scores and immediate and follow up actions and tested these out - no problems. However I do have a couple of questions if anyone can help...</p><p> </p><p>
1 What is the effect of ticking the 'prioritise' button?</p><p>
2 With regard to FTE and other high level incidents - do you still record these on SIMS in addition to G4S?</p><p> </p><p>

We use them for a few bits and bobs (email pre-filtering, external DNS management, acting a as "chase $connectivity_breaking_culprit for an ETtF" gopher. etc) so will be looking for alternate provision.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm aware it could be a simple case of "whatever's feeding data to those graphs can't keep up" or "someone's messing around with the monitoring", but given it's customer-facing monitoring I'd expect a "hey, we're messing about and it might look a bit odd" note on the portal if that were the case.</p><p> </p><p>
And the Internet has been non-specifically grindy at times unrelated to the little darling's escapades.</p><p> </p><p>

Just around when our exams officer was submitting info to exam boards.</p><p> </p><p>
DNS was fine, as was querying external Google DNS directly.  KCOM could connect to our router and verify all looked well.</p><p> </p><p>
Our internal proxy was fine (though we took it out of the loop while diagnosing just in case).</p><p> </p><p>
Sites hosted within EMBC were available, but anything on the wider Internet wasn't available.</p><p> </p><p>
Kier weren't aware of anything and promised to call back (didn't happen). Called Mouchel and are aware...working with KCOM and BT to diagnose where the issue is. what a day to go down with the exam results day tomorrow!</p><p> </p><p>
Hopefully it will be sorted before 8am tomorrow so I don't walk in to complaints!</p><p> </p><p>
