 Exam Visualiser - Help
-----------------------------------------

1. If you have not already done so run the accompanying CMIS report
and export the results to a CSV file.

2. Click on "Import Data" (or select "Import New" from the file menu),
locate your CSV file and click "Open"

3. When the data has been successfully read you should see visual
representation of the exam candidates on screen along with summary
statistics for the file. Each icon represents a candidate from the
   import file.

4. The layout and colour of these icons is very important. Those candidates
in the top panel all have achieved 5A*-C grades at GCSE (or equivalent).
Those in the bottom panel have yet to achieve 5A*-C grades (If there
are some icons which fall outside the scope of one of the panels you
can select the dividing line and drag either up or down to suit).

      # Green candidates have both and A*-C in English and Maths
      # Yellow candidates have an A*-C in English but not Maths
      # Blue candidates have an A*-C in Maths but not English
      # Grey do not have an A*-C in Maths or English

Remember that the panel determines whether or not a candidate has 5A*-C
grade or not. So a green icon in the bottom panel would have an A*-C in
both English and Maths but does not yet have 5A*-C. Probably something
   you would want to remedy!

5. Hovering over a candidate's "avatar" will cause the icon to glow red
to alert you that it is currently "in scope". The results details of
this candidate will appear in the info window to the left of the screen.

6. Double clicking a candidate's avatar will bring up more detailed
   information about that candidate.

7. A single click on a candidate's avatar will select that candidate and
turn the icon light blue. To select more that one candidate you can
   either:

      a) hold down the control key (Ctrl) and single click on each of the
icons you wish to add to the selection.

      b) click and drag to "lasso" a group of candidates (you can make
multiple selections this way by holding the down the control key
         whilst making your selections.

      c) click on the icons in the key at the top of the application to
select all candidates of that colour.

      d) a combination of any of the above (Remember to hold down Ctrl).

You can check the number of pupils currently selected at any time by
looking at the selection counter in the lower left of the application.

8. When candidates are selected the "Actions" menu will become active as
will the "Clear Selection" and "Export Selection" buttons at the bottom
   right of the screen.

      # "Clear Selection" (both the button and menu selection) will clear
        the current selection.

      # "Export Selection" (again both the button and the menu selection)
will open a new window containing the names, form, English and
Maths results of the currently selected pupils. - You can also
print the selection from this window.

      # Selecting "Print Selection" from the "Actions" menu will print the
name, form, English and Maths results of the selected pupils.

9. Selecting "Help" from the Help menu will bring you here!

10.Selecting "About" from the Help lets you know who made this wonderful
program (it was me by the way!).

11.Selecting "Close" from the File menu will close the program and save
the location of the current file which will be opened (if it still
exists) next time the program is launched.
