Editing the EduGeek Wiki
From EduGeek.Net -> Wiki
Basic editing
It is very easy to edit the wiki - you can even use OpenOffice Writer (v2.3+) to create your content and export it in MediaWiki format.
To edit a page, either click the 'edit' links for each section (next to the headings) or click the edit icon at the top-right of the page to edit the entire page.
The wiki syntax can be found by visiting the MediaWiki website.
In addition to the normal syntax, we have also installed the Geshi plugin. When editing the wiki and adding source code or configuration files, please use Geshi to highlight the text wherever possible to make your text more legible. Geshi can be used as follows:
<somelanguage> ... </somelanguage>
The following languages are supported: abap, actionscript, ada, apache, applescript, asm, asp, autoit, bash, blitzbasic, bnf, c, c_mac, caddcl, cadlisp, cfdg, cfm, cpp, cpp-qt, csharp, css, d, delphi, diff, div, dos, dot, eiffel, fortran, freebasic, genero, gml, groovy, haskell, html4strict, idl, ini, inno, io, java, java5, javascript, latex, lisp, lua, m68k, matlab, mirc, mpasm, mysql, nsis, objc, ocaml, ocaml-brief, oobas, oracle8, pascal, per, perl, php, php-brief, plsql, python, qbasic, rails, reg, robots, ruby, sas, scheme, sdlbasic, smalltalk, smarty, sql, tcl, text, thinbasic, tsql, vb, vbnet, vhdl, visualfoxpro, winbatch, xml, xpp, z80
Conventions
In order to keep the wiki looking nice, there are some conventions that we like to stick to.
It is very important to use the correct heading levels - never skipping a level! The wiki will automatically make a table of contents for each page using these headings.
In the same way that you should not skip heading levels, it is also important not to skip levels of numbering or lists.
