• EduGeek's lighweight mobile skin is live

If you happen to browse onto edugeek from your mobile phone you should now get our new mobile skin beta which should provide a lighter interface for visiting the forums. The skin should automatically apply when your using a mobile as well but if it doesnt drop me a message with your mobile device details and I will try and find out why.
The skin is a beta and a stop gap before our mobile apps are released in the future.

Works great on Nokia n86 using default Nokia browser but doesn't auto apply with Opera.
But then other sites don't auto apply mobile template with Opera either so probably not a site issue.

If you get me the useragent of your version of opera I can fix that.
One thing though iPad seems to get it currently which I am going to disable soon. You can manually switch back to light skin if you like anyway.

EDIT: anyone got a crackberry they can try it with?

Is anyone else having a slight problem whereby after logging in, you are taken back to the forum list and it doesn't appear that you've logged in until you view a forum? Not a major problem, just a minor annoyance

If your device has issues you can browse to www.edugeek.mobi and it will redirect and apply the theme if the auto-detection does not work.

Spec me a game to play over xmas

The only problem with this is that it's not true. Xbox Live isn't cheap. Plenty of great PC games that are free to play online and work on older hardware.

    Laptop for pupil home use

We had a similar request but it was under pupil premium. There is some good guidance from Dudley Council on the net which I found that also had a example

    Laptop for pupil home use

We're a secondary, but have a number of students who take laptops home. We have an agreement we have both the parent and student sign, after we have discussed
