Hi Matt. I found that after 7.124 the sims client also wants to 'upgrade' the shortcuts on the start menu. I found the gpo works fine again now I have allowed our staff security group modify on the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\SIMS Applications. Our staff can not right click on the start menu, so there aren't any real issues with this work around.
Hi terrovis, In this thread: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-sy...d-admin-2.html You made a post about the GPO security settings you use to allow SIMS workstations to update without giving users Admin rights. I've done as you've instructed and added the settings to a GPO, applied it to the Workstations in our school, but am still getting an error message when SIMS tries to update. The workstations are trying to update from version 7.124 to 7.128. I wondered if you were still successfully using this method to update your workstations, and if you had any advice as to why it won't function in our school? Thanks in advance, Matt
