I suspect that after sometime the resources will be made available to teachers as I do know there is work behind the scenes to sort something out.
Its a waiting game at the moment.

I swore I wasn't going to touch this topic ever again, but can't walk past that:the fact that the operators of the site do not have CRB clearance
How many useful to school sites out there with maybe a bit of interactivity have operators without a CRB clearance (bearing in mind the rest of the planet doesn't have CRBs)? Are YGHfL blocking them? Similarly are we worried anyone else's toolbars?
What is so wrong with just telling it like it is instead of doing this kind of stuff?

But then most sites that offer children social networks do make sure they are crb checked.
@dos_box I agree the companies working on this hopefully will get an anwser soon.

I do agree it's an extremely grey area which isn't covered by any law (to my knowledge). CRB's essentially give you clearance to physically work in an educational establishment. Although he has been convicted it didn't prevent him offering services to education and I think this is where the law needs to be corrected immediately. How many useful to school sites out there with maybe a bit of interactivity have operators without a CRB clearance (bearing in mind the rest of the planet doesn't have CRBs)? Good can always be extracted by this as it has raised awareness across the country and most LAs have made positive moves by blocking the site. Again it does prove the CRB system isn't perfect but it is certainly better than nothing. I don't know how it compares to other systems in Europe or the US.
