Cisco Aironet 1200 Series Configuration

There are full instructions on the Cisco site somewhere for this but from the depths of my memory the way I did it last time (about 3 1/2 years ago) was to hook up on of the console cables between the AP and my laptop, have hyperterminal running at the correct rates (details here on the Cisco site) and then reboot the AP. It gave me enough basic information to connect and reset it to factory default (password required for this).

You could use the CC Get MAC software to enter the MAC address of the WAP so that you can determine the IP address so that you can put this in your browser to connect. Have you restarted the WAP since changing the scope and did it have a static IP address?

Yes to both: It has been restarted [serveral times due to power cuts] and it did have a static IP address. That is the one I put in from our old range expecting a response from the switch.

There is a Cisco utility similar to this also I think. Something like 'IPSU'.

Thanks. I tried this solution first, as it looked like the line of 'least resistance' It worked a treat and now I am able to connect to the access point and administer it as desired.
