Cisco Wireless Problem

Hi Guys,

Long shot but we are having some major trouble with our Cisco wireless system at the moment we run two Cisco WLC526 controllers running 12 Cisco 521 aps we have 12 on controller 1 and controller 2 is for them to fall back on should there be any problems.

We have a problem where our clients cannot connect to the wireless system it tries to aqquire an address but appears to fail. At first I thought it may of been a DHCP issue but it appears that is not the case. I have been monitoring the wireless APS and how they behave it appears that they have all jumped on the same channel and power. The system is suppose to have Dynamic Channel Assignment so this should not be happening. I then manually changed the channels for the APS and we are now testing with just 2 aps quite near each other. It seems that the signal on both aps is fluctuating randomly going from -70 db to -95.

If anyone has any ideas on how we can resolve this I would really appreciate it.

haha serveral times even done a hardware reset on one controller and setup it all up again same issues :(

Is the cisco using radius and certificates and is mac filtering turned on.

Hi Ricki cheers for the reply, bit of a newbie to the system but we don't have any mac filtering on and I believe we aren't using Radius. If we turn all APS off and just have one running clients can connect to it just fine.

Think we found a solution for this today; Turns out the DNS was not linking in with the DHCP so in other words when I pinged the IP of the AP it was returning the name of a computer in the ICTSUITE. So cleared out the DNS restarted it all and made sure its all linking up meanwhile edited a few settings on the WLC so we shall see what tomorrow brings when they all start jumping back on the wireless.
