DNS on one client not working even server IPs set correctly
Strange problem. The correct IP addresses are entered for DNS servers but for some reason one particular client and the DNS server just can't seem to talk to each other.
I can ping the DNS server from the client. I can even telnet on port 53.
I have cleared the clients local cache. I have done system restore.
I have tried DHCP and static setups but no change.
I was trying to install the lnternet Explorer 7 on the earlier on but that failed. I wouldn't I have thought that this would be related but I'll mention it in just in case.
Any ideas? I'm trying to avoid reinstalling Windows :(

Checked the hosts file? Could be something funny in there

Yep have checked that. As expected, just the localhost entry.
Re: DNS on one client not working even server IPs set correctly
enter the full domain name in the DNS suffix for this connection box.

Yes. It was only one client that seemed to be affected.
