HP 5412zl Routing
Hi,
weve just recently had these installed by our network provider for which they were configured aswell.
the problem is - our cachepilot is on a 172.16.1 range and is pingable across all other vlans but it cant be accessed as a proxy server on port 8000 any else apart from the vlan it is a memebr of.
therefore how can i route port 8000 across the other vlans??
thanks,

If other traffic such as pings are working from all other subnets then routing is working and would have to have been manually restricted by an access list or something to discriminate against port 8000. My guess is that it may be an issue with the configuration of the cache box with regard to which ip ranges it will provide service to or that someone has added an access list into the switch preventing all but a certain batch of ports (excluding 8000) from passing between those subnets.

thanks for that info,
ive been looking at the telnet commands for the switches but cant find a way of checking the bits you have mentioned above, do you know the commands i will need?
thanks,

Running show config will let you see all the configuration entries on the switch. Some are a bit cryptic, so Google will be your friend in deciphering it.
