Run out of space on Server C drive!

I did exactly that but using Ghost Solution Suite 2.0. The server has hot-swap scsi drives so I simply ghosted an image to another drive, swapped the two drives and restored the image. During the process it asks if you want to change partition sizes. Now, if I'm doing anything major on the server, I repeat the exercise and work on the new drive. If it goes pear-shaped or I run out of time, I just stick the first drive back in.

We have used something called Part-logic (free of course) to re-partition a drive which has no effect on the C. You can also, resize drives with this tool. But it does only work on the basis of cylinders and sectors.

Jumping in a bit late and not shure if it has been mentioned but:

If you convert the disks to dynamic disks you can simply add more space to the c: partition. Free Easy no software required, the way i like it.

Im surprised nobody has mentioned windirstat to find out what is taking up all the space.

Similarly, I use Spacemonger to keep an eye on what's taking space up on drives.
(much of a muchness, but I like the look of Spacemonger) :)

Spacemonger 1.4 is free also, I think.

Is it 'safe' to remove these? Would it work if I backed them up to somewhere else and then deleted them? Or would that not work?

Ive deleted these files for a while now as on some machines it has been 2gb+ its fine, just make sure you leave the $hfmig folder - cant remember why, just saw it somewhere!!

Done it on servers, desktops, laptops the lot and not 1 problem.
