Gotta Love Ruckus....

Finally got power to our 'temporary' classrooms until the new builds are ready.

Being temporary, can't wire them up for the network so using the wonders of Ruckus in 'Mesh Mode' to get a network to the four mobiles that we've had installed.

Attached is a photo of the car park where these are located; we've positioned a standard ZoneFlex 2942 up high (where the photo is taken from), which is hooked into the network and acting as the 'Root'.

Four additionals 2942 APs located in the mobiles (one in each), and thus creating a 'Mesh'. Standard desktop PC with cheap and cheerful USB Wireless Dongle attached. Result, working network for the next term until the new builds are in.

If you're still thinking about Ruckus, don't hesitate. It's absolutely spot on....

Talk to Simon, but for this setup it's using a Zone Director 1000 and 5 x 2942 Access Points (we have 8 in total). You'll be surprised at how cheap it is.
