KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
We have an 8-port KVM in our server rack which obviously allows us to control all the servers from one keyboard (PS2), video (VGA) and mouse (PS2) set. This all works nicely by pressing the relavent button to get the corresponing server on the screen.
However, when an engineer visited a while back I noticed he was using a keyboard hotkey combination to switch between machines, but I didn't note the combination and forgot to ask him what it was.
Does anyone know what it is likely to be? As a clue, when I press Escape once, the KVM bleeps but does nothing again for a while and then does the same again.
The KVM brand and model number are not obvious.
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
Is the firmware splash screen when you reboot the KVM?
Are there any special keys on the KVM?
What happens when you press the function keys?
Don't you have an order/invoice for the KVM?
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
If it is anything like a Belkin KVM, it would probably be "tap scroll lock twice then press a number"
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
Yep, scrolllock twice and arrow up/down keys works for belkin too.
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
either scroll lock twice or num lock twice works for me.
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
escape followed by a number from 1 to 8 then I'd guess.
Otherwise you will have to find out the make and model.

Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
ctrl+alt+m is one that I have come across on Lindy ones, Scroll lock twice followed by a number 1,2,3 etc from the main numbers NOT the number pad those are the main ones.
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
We have an 8 port belkin one, and our key combination is Scroll lock x2, 0, {1-8}. The 0 is for the "bank" - as they can be stacked apparently for more servers, but still using the one terminal. Use the number row above the QWERTY area instead of the pad on the right.
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
our Adder is ctrl + shift + number, and our Dell is printscreen
Re: KVM Hotkeys - What are they?
Just a double tap of CTRL to scroll through displays for me on my cheap and cheerful one... Not a great one to buy if you're a gamer!
