Blocking pages on cachepilot

Been using cachepilot for 4 painful years now, so im very familiar with it and understand how things are supposed to work but...

Anyone any suggestions on how to block certain pages on wikipedia. Ive added all the pages to a blacklist, tested a couple, great everything seems fine. Get a phonecall and am told that only half of the pages ive blocked have actually been blocked! Grr!

So far iv got;

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_(sex_act)
*wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_(sex_act)
*.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_(sex_act)
./*Facial_(sex_act)
/.*Facial_(sex_act)

None of which will block that page, but the first line works perfectly with other pages :confused:

Any suggestions?

The cachpilot works, is configured correctly, etc, which has been confirmed by several sources so its not a bad box or anything.

You may need to escape ( - eg

So why is it you understand someone elses product better than they do?! :rolleyes: In 4 years of using it ive never had it suggested that you need to escape characters. Just re-read the manual and not a single mention of it.

I wish we could use smoothwall. Just changed back my own router to smoothwall after a few problems with ipcop. Never ever had smoothwall express set a foot wrong in 3years+ of use so i can only assume the commercial product will be as good or better.

Oh what it would be like to deal with a company who actually understands their own product and is willing to help after they have taken payment!

Heh.. I guessed it was a perl compatible regex (as you get in Smoothie) so applied the usual rules.

FWIW, Equiinet will hopefully be rolling out SmoothWall Guardian as the "guts" of cachepilot real soon now. This should help with over/under blocking, and I hope to work with them getting some techies watching edugeek :)
