Duplicate Files Finder
Can anyone recommend (free?) a Duplicate file finder that can export the results?
I have tried Easy Duplicate Finder and although it finds duplicate files, it thinks a duplicate file is any other file with the same size, so in the results it reports lots of folders containing photos etc! Also the results export file is just a list of directory paths. Eg:
D:\users\resources\Year 6\Photos 2008-09\Evacuation Day\P9290955.JPG
D:\users\resources\Year 6\Photos 2008-09\Evacuation Day\P9290956.JPG
D:\users\resources\Year 6\Photos 2008-09\Evacuation Day\P9290957.JPG
D:\users\resources\Year 6\Photos 2008-09\Evacuation Day\P9290958.JPG
D:\users\resources\Year 6\Photos 2008-09\Evacuation Day\P9290959.JPG
D:\users\resources\Year 6\Photos 2008-09\Evacuation Day\P9290960.JPG
Basically I want to give something easy to understand to the head so she can educate her staff! The LEA is demanding we pay more for our off site backup as we have reached our 200GB limit!
I saw this post: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/downlo...le-finder.html but the link given went to some adware site. Edit: can be found here: http://www.tucows.com/preview/373411
I know what you mean: I found the same 1/2 gig football training file in about 5 locations in one of my schools.
Pretty sure that DoubleKiller will do the trick.
Could you not just use FSRM in Windows Server 2003 R2.
we use TreeSize Pro and it has this functionality. It can do it by name/size/date or by hash code. Obviously if you wanted just this functionality it may not be worth it but it is a great program anyway.
Another vote for the R2 features here.
Could you give a little more info?

Does a brilliant job of matching by filename, size and CRC fairly quickly and also pairs up files into groups... Will export results to CSV.
R2 features for me as well :)
