D-Link DWS3024 with DWL8600AP - VLANing
Hi all, I'm trying to set up a student WIFI network on its own VLAN.
I configure the switches to tag the default VLAN and the WIFI network on the appropriate ports.
Go to the Profiles part of the management switch, set up the VLANs and push the profile to the APs.
The new WIFI SSID appears and I can join.
Problem is I cannot get anywhere, it's as if the VLAN does not exist on the AP at the network level.
After investigation it appears this is correct. If I unmanage the AP, telnet into it and configure VLANing manually, then re-add it to the managed switch it all works.
Question is; is there something in the management switch which I have missed? Is there any other way to configure VLANing on the APs without having to go to each one and telnet and configure manually.
NOTE - you cannot telnet in when the AP is managed. You have to turn off the management switch, reboot the APs, then since they cannot see the switch they go into default mode, only then can you telnet in.
Also the APs are not directly connected to the switch
