    Have you tried changing the channel its broadcasting on, maybe there is some interference ?

    Firstly... what the hell are the quotation marks for?!?!?!?!?! If WITCH sees that she'll be round your house giving you a proper beating! :P

    Secondly... run NetStumbler/Kismet/Kismac/$favourite tool and you will doubtless find every house on your street has a BT Homehub or similar - all of which will be on the same channel (and this is probably the same channel as yours). At this point pick a channel as far as possible from everyone else and things will get better.

    Alternatively, you may be running some dodgy software which is eating bandwidth and causing your AP to fall over. You may also need to update your NIC drivers or the AP firmware.

    Another idea. If you find that there's no free channel. Remember channels overlap each other. See if your router has a setting to reduce the power output of the wireless. That way you can be using the same channel as a neighbour but your wireless isn't broadcasting far enough to interfere.

    @Callum

    Go to the websites of the manufacturers of you AP and NIC, then RTFM.

    @Callum: I think you meant the site for the stumbling tool... no?

    Anyway... it depends on your platform. I shall assume for the moment that you are using Windows. In which case you want NetStumbler from http://netstumbler.com/

    If you were to be using Linux you would use Kismet from http://www.kismetwireless.net/

    If you were using OS X then you could use Kismac from http://kismac.de/

    Other tools are available but these are the most common and will give you all the info you need.

    I had the same problem for ages with my wireless router in the house - used with a cable modem.

    It used to cut out when accessing websites such as Ebay at times, Yahoo all the time, and YouTube to name a few. This went on for ages until 2 weeks ago I decided to sort it out once and for all. I reset the wireless routers settings, added a new set of wireless details etc. Now it works perfect

    Maybe that would solve your problem?
