    Server unavailable\slow connection to share.

Hi, please save me from insanity.......

Until 8 this morning everything worked fine but now we are getting this problem.

We cannot connect to a servers shares across our ruckus wireless connection.

We have two sites with a rukus wlan connection between them. The second site is on a different subnet and we havea routerbetween the different subnets and has been working fine since september.

Today we have been unable to connect to any shares on a Windows 2008 server at the main site. We can access all the shares from the main site and from the remote site we can connect to all share on any other server... theres just this one that wont... or should i say it will but takes over 3 minutes then for every directory you cick on it just times out.

Is there anything i am missing.. i have checked the firewall and theres been no changes, even turned it off totally. There were no windows updates installed. I have reset all connected hardware. ping works fine. can connect to iis in the server. checked file sharing permissions, even setup a new share to test.

Still nothing. i am sure theres a simple solution but for the life of me cannot see it..

    Any ideas or advice please..

    infact please PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE.......

Is the connection between the two sites a PtP Ruckus, using 7731 or a MESH using other model APs?
Or are you seeing the problem over the WLAN infrastructure?

Have you tried resetting the server?

Yes its A ptp... but i am certain it cant be that as we can connect to the network fine, internet access over the link is fine, access to shares on other server are fine.

Just this one server which has been working for months.

Have reset the server and shut down and started up ... still cant connect to it properly...

Is the server in question a domain controller and is it replicating properly?

Sometimes one of my server shares here will become slow like you described for some computers in our Admin team.
I usually run the following on the server:

    [Open CMD]
    ipconfig /flushdns
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew

then go to the machine/s that are experiencing the slow access time to the share and do the same.

Once done it all runs fine again - though it could be a totally different problem of course!

Have you tried changing the IP address of the server with the problem, in case there is a conflict somewhere causing the long access times / crashes?
