    Port Usage

Does anybody know of any software (preferably free!) or any other way of finding out what outgoing ports are being used by the server?

We have been doing some online testing with Exambase, and when trying to download candidates or exams, or upload results, it seems tempramental whether it works or not. The helpdesk informs me that the software uses port 443, and perhaps another application is using this port intermittently - therefore only allowing Exambase to work at certain times when the prot is not being used.

Nmap. If the server is Windows, you can run TCPView on the server to tie open ports to processes.

Also using Wireshark might give you extra clues as to what it's trying to do.
