    Re: Internal messaging

If you use Spark - I knocked up a quick and dirty control type script which will turn it on / off on clients. This is for student use only as our IT teacher is going to experiment with it for a class and wanted to control it. The thread is here:

    Re: Internal messaging

I've just been testing openfire on a windows server using ldap and psi as the client and I could not get psi to log me on.

Install spark and it worked perfectly first time.

What were you putting in as your username? The full blah@server.domain or just blah?

Tried everything it could have just been a funked up psi install.

With spark bnorcutt@server worked where server is the name of the openfire server.

    Re: Internal messaging

I know about 2 messaging applications developed by the OU
    BuddySpace - http://kmi.open.ac.uk/projects/buddyspace/
    and MSG - http://kmi.open.ac.uk/technologies/msg/about/
they look pretty cool but I haven't got the time to check them out properly

People seemed to settle on Wildfire as being best server software.

Along with PSI on the clients (The Spark client on the Jivesoftware site is written in Java and uh...slow).

    Pandion Jabber Client any better?
