Wireless router that covers 2 kilometers? Is this for real?

Got a link to this in a newsletter today - High-Power Wireless Router with Built-in Antennas - Range of 2000m

    Is this:

    a) for real?
    b) legal in the UK?

    Got to be a catch...

Perfectly real. Milton Keynes in the UK uses a similar system for there metropolitan wireless system.1 high power AP covers about a 1 mile radius and can have upto 8000 people on it. They have the APs intersected at key points so signal stays strong.
