    OpenNMS
    Nagios
    Pandora FMS - http://pandora.sourceforge.net/en/index.php
These are available as virtual machines from the VMWare site.

http://www.klir.com/ - free for upto 25 devices, web based SaS like five runs
http://www.splunk.com/products/218 - search engine type thing, searchs logs and almost anything to identify problems
http://www.symphoniq.com/solutions/videos/library.asp - looks really good in theory. Used to diagnose web problems. Worth watching the demo videos on the site
www.fiveruns.com - I have been testing this out at home. Not bad, very easy to setup but haven't had a chance to play with it properly. $60 per server per month
    Summary of 5runs http://www.orangecrate.com/modules.p...rticle&sid=594
http://www.q1labs.com/products/ - security based, looks like it could be used for log file analysis

And on another note everyone on here might already know about klir as Edugeek is mentioned in their blog! quality

Re: New Network Monitoring services and free cash! yes!

I don't know about this service but I find Nagios and Cacti to do all the work I need. Instant notification via any of the normal methods (email, jabber, sms, pager or any custom app you wish to use), easy to set up (for all 6 my servers and integration with jabber it took me an hour) and it just runs.

And Cacti is just as good, so long as you have SNMP enabled on the hosts - and it works well with most types of switch too.

Why use an external service and use up your net bandwidth for monitoring?
