I have Cisco Network Assistant 5.5 installed and have used it in the past. I came to login today and when i select the community to connect to i get prompted for my username and password. I caanot for the life of me remember what credentials i used to login with, whether it is network credentials or something specific to Cisco.
Can someone help me and explain what type of username it would be and in case i need to, anyway of resetting the username/password?

21st March 2011, 09:57 AM #2 if it's network hardware you are trying to login to then you are going to have to reset the password on the hardware side, easy enough done. Where you trying to access a switch or router ?

21st March 2011, 10:01 AM #3 You login to a community on Network Assistant which contains all switches. I'm pretty sure i just used to use a Domain Admin account and also just found a group called "switch_admin" which is only assigned to the 3 domain admin accounts. but yet CNA just doesnt seem to like these credentials when logging in.

21st March 2011, 10:19 AM #4 try re-installing the program - never had much dealings with CNA to be honest. And also you could try and connect to a device individually - im just gonna install it from the server see if I can help you

21st March 2011, 10:36 AM #5 looks like you have to login to a management device rather than onto a domain - see if you can find the seed IP if you cant though your going to have to connect to each device individually.

It should be the password you use to telnet into the device as CNA just uses a load of telnet lines to control the switch(es).

21st March 2011, 11:39 AM #7 found the problem, it is just my domain admin login as it was a member of the switch_admin group but there was also a policy in place listing 3 ips which i think you had to be logging in from for it to work. Taken those out and can login fine now.
