We currently have 90 of these Toshiba A11-17C laptops used in school and more then one occasion we have had issues with dropping connections and poor signal even when directly near an AP.
I currently have 1 annoying laptop on my desk, it will not hold a connection to the AP, others will quite happily tho. It will connect for a matter of seconds before disconecting. Im out of ideas on why this is being caused, all configurations are fine and im testing it now with no other devices on the AP.
I found the issue which was rather embarasing! The laptop which had a problem was used to create an image from before I started here. Since then its been imaged out to another laptop and we are using static IP's on all wireless devices, the laptop that also had this IP was unused until in the last week when a member of staff came back from a long time sick leave with their laptop and IP clash Should of checked our laptop log before hand!
