Wink Anyone been in IT long enough to remember these...?

The Boss and I were checking out an old store in our Humanities department - As a prospective new HOY office; when we came across a few absolute gems... I miss Token Ring...

    Anyone remember these...?

Sadly, the original Token Ring Switch that was located alongside the bank of converters is long gone.

Sorry for the photo quality, sods law states that the only day I need my DSLR I don't bring it to work....

We did have a token ring thin-net coax network for a short while but used a hub with a coax point on it to join it to any 'fancy new' gear with ethernet

Oh yes, type one cableing - love it, I worked on a Token Ring network for about 7 years. Worse thing was having floors on different ring speeds..... Used to love those Madge cards....

It was strangely exciting to find these... (8 in total).
The 6th form class and Latin teacher nextdoor were quite confused by our enthusiasm over, and I quote.. "a couple of bits of plastic"...

They called us 'sad' - They are learning a dead language, as we're sad?!?
