    2 Exchange servers 1 site

I am in the middle of migrating from one server to the other but I want both working at once.
We send our mail to our county smart host. They send our mail onto our specific RBC IP address.
    1 st server works fine.
I want the second server to be able to send and receive.
I created an SMTP connector to send all mail to the county smarthost via the original server designated as the bridgehead.
This configuration does not seem to be right at all, so can anyone enlighten me how they would tackle this?

    Cheers

    Chris

Re: 2 Exchange servers 1 site

    This is my current predicament:

Ok now I have 2 scenarios in both Server 1 can send and receive.

Scenario 1 SMTP connector set to go to smart host:
    Server 1 Send/Receive
    Server 2 Receive

    Scenario 2:
Smarthost set to ISP mail server on SMTP Virtual server on Server 1. Smarthost set to Server 1 mail server on SMTP Virtual server on Server 2.
    Server 1 Send/Receive
    Server 2 Send

I am pulling out my hair now any ideas?

@ChrisH: Forgot to ask... do you get an undeliverable report when you try to send from Server 2? This would give a clue as to how it's trying to send the mail... I still reckon that it's to do with the ACL on the smarthost.

BTW... forgot to dig out that article :?

Got it working I think using a combination of both scenarios. Problem is sometimes I get my mail straight away and others it seems to get stuck in the LGFL for ages making testing slow
