    @Cruiser_Scotland: It sounds like you're running folder redirection with offline files on appdata and this is failing on logoff due to a long filename. There are plenty of VBscripts around for clearing Temporary Internet Files on logoff, I would start here. Clearing these out would also speed up your logon/logoff sync.

    this only happens on windows 2000 machines here

    runing delprof as a startup script stops it happening

    dont know about windows 7 though sorry

    Thanks for all the replies. We're not running offline files or folder redirection on appdata, but have managed to stop this through setting Group policy to delete temporary internet files when the browser is closed.

    Weird, why was it syncing appdata then in a mandatory profile? Roaming I can understand but not mandatory.
