I'm sure this will apply to other schools but i'm setting this up in an EMBC school.
We're about to upgrade to a layer 3 network with a new switch (HP3500yl) so we can use VLAN's, we'll also be installing Ruckus wireless with a Zonedirector. We have a SWG-700 Smoothwall box as well if that can help any, it would be nice for this traffic to go through the SW but not essential.
I want to setup a VLAN that will enable the students to get on the WAP receive an IP from our DHCP server and access the internet but not be able to see the rest of our network, servers etc. Should this be possible with this setup/equipment, can the Ruckus Zonedirector VLAN traffic?
Any suggestions appreciated, extra IP range etc.
Thanks.

Snap, different switching and a UTM-1000, but yes its do able.
Ruckus will assign a vlan to a ssid, so you can set up a vlan for wireless, use your layer 3 switches to route it, and smoothwall to firewall it.
Ip address can be a 192.168 private range if you needed.
