    Checking who logged onto a computer on a given day?

    Hi

    Where do i find the data on who logged onto a worksation on a particular day?

    I have a workstation in our computer suite one and wanted to know who logged onto it yesterday.

    you could perhaps have a look at the local profile that is created when the user logged on, last modified etc..

    If you audit logins the security log would be a good place to look

    They are part of the event viewer. Right click My Computer > Manager > Expant Event Viewer.

    Start > Run. Eventvwr.msc If you want to connect to another machine on the network, right-click "Event Viewer (Local)" in the left pane, and click "Connect to another computer ..."

    If there profiles are stored locally when they logon then you can obviously just go to

    c:\documents and settings

    and sort there user profiles by date and you will know who logged on by the date ( obviously )
