free VPN client
I would like a free alternative for a VPN client. Basically like UltraVNC but to use over the net. For example install on my parents computer to help them etc. I currently use Logmein free which is fine, but would prefer a client. Pref using SSL. It's just for windows to windows. Any help much appreciated.

If the latter, VNC is free (both the client and the server) and there are multiple versions available.
If the prior, you'd need a VPN server to connect to (such as OpenVPN), and a client for it.

UltraVNC will do this for you and as has been said is free. A twist on installing UltraVNC on the client computers is to configure SingleClick. You install VNC Viewer on your machine and run it in listen mode the client (your parents) run the SingleClick application that you provide for them.

I use it almost everynight which is not always such a great thing!
Works very well though.
