I've just recieved my spanking new HP Procurves to completely upgrade my Switches and Hubs.
I am trying to access one via serial to set it up but I am having real trouble talking to it (yeh and I'm ready for comments like you need a holiday if your tying to talk to switches
)
I have tried hyperterminal no luck and also a program called terminal which comunicates and thats about it I can't access the setup page.
Any one use procurves? what program do you use to set them up?

Hyperterminal here to set them up.
Don't think I needed to change any of the defaults for the connection.
But taken from HP Support:
In your terminal emulator, such as HyperTerminal, use the following settings:
* Baud rate (or bits per second): 9600
* Date bits: 8
* Parity: None
* Stop bits: 1
* Flow Control: None
You also need to be sure your terminal emulator sends a carriage return and line feed at the end of each line that is entered. In HyperTerminal, this setting is located under "Properties" then "Settings" then "ASCII Setup", where you need to select "Send line ends with line feeds" under "ASCII Sending"
