    net time set

I'm using net set time on a logon script, but it fails as the users do not have permissions. Is it best to run it as startup script?

What OS are you running on the desktops? If it's XP and the machines are on a domain it shouldn't be necessary. Are you having problems that necessitate the script? Is the Windows Time service running on the affected desktops?

Yeah it's xp and server 2003, I run it to synch the time with the server. When a domain user logs on the script says something like the user does not hold permissions.

In a W2K3 Domain, you should only set the PDC Emulator server to synchronise with an external source.

We use SWGfL for our ISP, so, on the PDC Emulator I used:

    net time /setsntp ntp.ifl.org.net

    to set an external source.

All the other DCs will sync with the PDC automatically, and Domain PCs will then sync with one of the DCs as part of their logon process.

    Cheers, 7&Y
