    Sophos - Unable to remove

    Hi All!

Been playing with Sophos lately and turned on Email Alerts!...

Right so i get a few tonight saying "Adaware/PUA "Hotbar" is not removable"...
and..."Adaware/PUA "When U Installer" is not removable"

Question is how do i get sophos to delete them automatically, and yes its set in the policy to Delete viruses...so im stumpted?

    Any Ideas?

    Cheers Mart

Sophos (in many situations) requires a full scan to be performed or occasionally an additional manual download of a removal tool.

If it's flagging up adware...that's technically not a virus is it - so maybe it won't automatically delete it.

It really depends.. we get these kinds of alerts when an infected USB stick is inserted.. so it gets flagged up. When I go and visit the machine and scan, I discover it was on a USB stick and didnt get any further, similarly if it was in a profile it may already have been deleted due to the local user profile cleanup thing which runs here - sometimes I will run a scan just to make sure but on the whole, Sophos seems to be doing its job. Makes me almost shed a tear considering how much we slag it off
