    iLibra Mail??? Anybody use it?

    Hi guys,

Today I visited a school that want to upgrade from a Windows 98/NT4 Server platform to an XP/Server 2003 setup.

    They have 3 servers.

    - NT4 Server (Domain) - Curriculum
    - NT4 Server - Admin
    - Mail Server running something called iLibra.

The mail server is the thing that I have a question about. I have never heard of it, but a quick look on the net brings http://www.tameside.gov.uk/schools_g...ilibra_faq.htm

Seems to be a tameside specific package.

    If anyone has used it I'd just like to know;

1/ Can it be run on a Windows Server 2003 Platform?
2/ Does it store email accounts in a database that can be migrated to something else?
3/ Anyone have any setup documentation for it?
    4/ Is it any good?

    Thanks,
    CM786

Oh my, who would have though.

I have one that is 80% of the way through being replaced by exchange 2003 - taken me too many years to get everything else done in preperation, so it has sat doing the same thing since 1998, through 98 -> 2000 and a few hardware upgrades.

My box runs mdaemon 3 point something - its old and doesn't support imap. There isn't anything wrong with mdaemon, I use it at home, but I can't upgrade it at work without a new license as it has been left for so long. No easy way to get any webmail off it, its a 3 step manual import from renaming files to outlook express to outlook and exchange. I have moved all outlook users to exchange (nearly) and have told other staff to keep a copy of important webmail emails as its going to be retired at the end of the term. I can't sort through and import 20k mails.

From the sounds of it - its not exactly good?

If it is working fine, then it sounds like I shouldn't touch it (well not for the moment - its not a priority) and just leave it on NT4??
