Hi
Please could anyone help me I have a problem and I cannot find a solution.
We have a windows 2003 domain with windows xp, 2000 clients. How do you set group policies so that students cannot right click All Programs and explore.
We have loads of group policies in place to restrict students but we cannot find a way to stop them right clicking on all programs and getting at things. Its becoming a security pain.
I want to keep the start buttion and dont want to just place all the icons on the desktop top.
Does anyone have any ideas.
Thanks for all your help.

Goto the GPO you have setup for the students and follow:
User Configuration --> Admin Templates --> Windows Components -->
the two areas you are looking for is
Start Menu & Desktop
Both of these have options to disable right click context menu which will remove ANY right click menu from both the desktop and the start menu/bar

Re: Right Click All Programs
If students are running as restricted users then there shouldn't be anything they should be able to do by right-clicking that they can't do with Windows Explorer.
The Open and Save dialogs of Word, Excel and other Office apps present more of a problem. No matter how much you tie down Explorer, these file browsers can still be used to drill down to any area of the file system that the user has read access to.
Speaking of which does anybody know how to disable filename completion?

Start Menu and Taskbar:
Remove access to the context menus for the task bar.
