Wireless Networks Thread, How to tell which users are logged on in Technical; Grr, i know what i want, just don't know how to ask for it.... I'm sure its in AD, shows ...

    How to tell which users are logged on

    Grr, i know what i want, just don't know how to ask for it....

    I'm sure its in AD, shows you a list of who is logged onto what....how many docs they got open...

    Where is it or have i dreamt it?

    You could go to your file server and see who has open sessions to their home directory. Computer management > Shared Folders

    Not in AD. It's an MMC snapin. Your looking for the Shared Folders snapin then 'Open files'. If you're RDP'd/logged into the server you want this information from you can Right-click 'My Computer' and get to it from the Manage option on the menu.

    or if its just logons and times you want, pstools has a psloggedon command - quite useful as its remotely executable as well.

    use netwatch.exe it's a resource kit tool.

    You can monitor multiple computers in multiple domains.

    show all shares.
    show hidden shares.
    filter in use shares only.
    display open files.
    simple GUI.
    Single .exe ~ no installing.

    Also handy for getting people out of SIMS at upgrade time
