    switch problem

    hi, we have a fibre connection between two buildings for the network. The switch one end of the fibre was killed by a powercut and replaced. the switch the other end of the fibre went a couple months later and is being replaced. any suggestions?

    keep a spare switch handy.

    Also consider putting your switches on UPS. That way they will be protected from power surges and similar problems.

    IF you have alot of cash then buy another fibre between your building. Make sure the new fibre is NOT in the same pipe as your old one.
    After that plug the second fibre in your network and config STP on your switches to avoid loops
