just been googling that error and it comes up as:
    0x80041003
Current user does not have permission to view one or more of the classes returned by the call.

it says that if an asp file tries to run a wmi service as a non-admin account you get that. but ive checked that the user/pass in the settings is in the domain admins group.

just as an addition to what i just posted, i went into iis manager, and for the mlsm folder i turned on integrated windows authentication and it immediately came up as the server being up not down.

I have just re checked my setup at home and on the test server at school and in both cases these are also set to 'Intergrated Windows Authentication' as well.

I will updat the documentation to so this as a requirement.

@MK-2: Can i take it that you are now up and running??

I can now get it to confirm the server is up by enabling windows auth, but when i click on the server it says offline. i have all services checked and it finds none.

    No luck whatsoever here.
Ive got it set to run on "http://server:5200"
When i goto that address, it says checking servers for about 5 minutes, then i get a timeout error.
But i cant goto the /admin/ page, keeps coming up with 'this website cannot display the page' errors in IE.

Basically the same as what i was getting in v1.1.
    Any ideas?

@Boomam: You need to ensure that parent paths are enabled on the server for this site, you also need to ensure that the database path is correct in the incs/db_connect.asp file there are 2 options in there if one does not work try the other settings.

The timeout is due to NOT connecting to the database.

    Parent paths are on.
I changed the paths to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\MLSM\data\netmon.db and now no pages come up at all?

How do you mean? Where IIS thinks the home directory for MLSM is?
    Its located at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\MLSM\
I'd have had it in wwwroot itself, but it would have over-written other files that i have there for other IIS apps.

when you add a server and click its link in the status page, does it show you what services are running, as i just get offline.

@mullet_man: Well done nice to see you got there in the end.

@MK-2: If you add a server that has a wmi check then if the server is online the server name will be enabled as a link to an "extended Check" when clicked a deeper check of the server is performed to check the selected servcies.

If after a service check is performed there could be 2 reasons:
    1. The username and password specified does not has the correct permissions to query the remote server i.e. User is not a member of the Domain Admins group
    2. You have not assigned any services to the server in order for them to be checked
    3. You have assigned services to the server that are NOT installed on that server
