Wireless - What do you use?
We want to know if anyone has a centrally managed wireless setup.
We have about 30 Airstations now and think its getting way out of control so what we would like to do is have a central antenna and cover the whole of the college campas (200m radius i think).
Anyone have a similar setup?

I think that you have to get licenced for that kind of setup. 802.11b and g setups work in the unlicenced band , but are llimited in power and range. Blasting out a big signal like that would also disruppt houshold items such as video senders and other consumer items working in the 2.4 spectrum.

You've also got to think about how many people will be access that one AP. The signal may well cover it, but the bandwidth probably won't. Obviously depending on what the clients will be doing.
