Free Meraki AP
Hi, Did anyone watch the webcast today where you got a free Meraki AP? Just wondered if they had done it before. It was quite interesting, especially the guy from Cirencester saying they pulled out the Netgear kit because it was rubbish (we have netgear rubbish here ) Looking forward to getting the kit and having a play but wondered if you need to subscribe to run it from the web?

Meraki kit is very good. And i love it not just the wireless kit which is the tip of the iceburg with what they do.

They do tend to give out lots of trial kit quite easily.
Which AP do are they giving away? MR12? in which case its the lowest of the range.

They are the low end single radio ones, not bad for home but I wouldn't want to use in a production enviroment for more then a few devices!
Nice though, i have an MR16 in the boot of my car at the moment although MR24's would be what you want in a school for the performance required.

Just seen the price of the MR24's.... not a chance unless 1 covered the entire school

There about £7/800 each ish? I think, Perhaps a little more? It would be worth testing the MR16's to see if they give the throughput required but the MR24 will give you the greatest radio rate (900mbs)

Is it 3 years now? When I took advantage of this offer almost a year ago it was only one year.

I have one to, put it in the staff room and its better than whats already there but not good enough for a classroom,
looking at trying Ruckus in the classrooms though for a start its half the price and if its as good as they say it is.
Only got mine about 3 weeks ago and yes you still get a 3 year licence with it.
