Wireless Access Points & Bridges, WiFi, Mesh, Point to Point & Multipoint, 3G & LTE Cellular Gateways - 4Gon - 4Gon Solutions
I ran my controller on a Dell 755 then on a virtual machine.
Where do you get Ubiquiti unifi 3 packs form I am getting silly pricing? Also what kind of machine do you run the controller software on. I am looking at buying for a charity.
4gon or wifigear are two "good" stockists
As for controller, nearly anything will do.
What do you get in the box do you get the standalone power adapter?
CP ltd sell them, had a set of them in the past, they supplied power leads, they don't come in the box i believe
You get the 3 ap's and power over ethernet adapters
you got PoE adapters, buy you do need to get a figure of 8 power lead to for each one.
I also got to get a machine to run the software on I was looking at asus e-pc is there a linux version of the controller software?
Should be a Ubuntu one
Edit: But I read you can run it on lots of distros
Hi.. I get mine from here http://www.msdist.co.uk/catalogue_Ub...#UbiquitiUniFi Slightly cheaper than 4gon from past experience (Don't forget to include postage). Great service offered...

We've put in Unifi into three of our schools.
School 1: 3 x Standard APs - Windows 2008 controller.
School 2: 3 x Pro APs - Windows 2008 controller.
School 3: 14 x Pro APs & 3 x Standard external APs - Ubuntu controller.
We were advised to go down the ubuntu route for the larger deployment, for reliability. However, on the smaller windows deployments, we've never had an issue.
Unifi is superb for the price. If you run radius, it can do nearly everything the bigger names can do too.
