    HP 5412zl Multiple Default Gateways

    HI All,

    We have a HP 5412zl with a number of vLANS,

    We also have two firewalls, a basic one for staff and a filtering one for students.

    On the switch, I would like to set the default gateway for staff vLans to go to the staff firewall and the default gateway for the student vlans to go to the student firewall.

    Does anyone know if this is posisble?

    ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 192.168.201.6
    ip route 192.168.95.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.12.6
    ip routing

    Something like that, but that doesn't work

    If they're on the same subnet otherwise (which I imagine they are) you wouldn't want to do that even if it did work.
    What firewalls are they? Why 2? Typically you'd have a single firewall/filter which is VLAN aware and handles the relevant security as per AD groups...

    If you have multiple default routes on one IP subnet then the router (should) load balance traffic between them. The only other scenario is more advanced where you add QoS or Costs to routes. Then the router will follow these rules to route traffic.

    I can't remember if this is the comware command or the procurve but try
    ip route-static 10.1.220.0 24 10.1.3.2

    They are on different subnets.

    One fire wall is a CISCO ASA that is hosted with our ISP.
    The other is a propriety internet content filter. We only want the student traffic to go through the content filter.

    I have tried the static-route command, but it doesn't work, at least with our model switch.
