can you use bits to transfer a folder full of files
just a thought i had that may reduce network traffic and speed up software deploys but not sure if its a possible or if so how to do it
is it possible to get bits to copy a folder full of files (so lets say the office 2010 source files) from a network share to say c:\office2010 (and ideally report back when its done) so that instead of every pc that is getting office pulls it from the network at bootup/shutdown they copy the source files to their own c drive over the day when the pc is "bored" (and lets face it in most schools local drive space ive found is seldom much of an issue) using bits shouldnt cripple the pc or network too much. Then when its finished (why i want a log) or even simpler if i can find a way of making a particular file finish transfering last i can just alter the install script to check for the existence of the last file if it aint there abort the script and try again later
infact would local update publsher allow you to do this?
