Sophos EM2 Install on Server 2003 RS (x64) Fails
I'm in the process of transferring roles to get my new servers, but have hit a snag with Sophos EM2. When I try and install it to Server 2k3 (64) the installer bombs out with a 'Not compatable with a 64 bit operating system' error. This installer is the only version available from Sophos and on the page has a 64 bit compatatble logo etc.
Am I missing something?

'MonsterPlastic' posted a response he got from Sophos related to this. You can view it here:

Re: Sophos EM2 Install on Server 2003 RS (x64) Fails
Thanks Geoff. What a pile of cack. With 64 bit servers due to be the norm pretty dammed soon why on Earth have Sophos not adressed this issue by now?
With many of us getting new servers in it is (I feel) a retrograde step to be forced due to one comopany to used a 32bit OS. All of my new servers have masses of RAM because they can handle it. I cannot go to 32 bit. I will just have to keep an old server chugging along because of this. I wanted rid of them.
Re: Sophos EM2 Install on Server 2003 RS (x64) Fails
What about virtualising one of your 64bit servers into one 32bit instance for Sophos + instances whatever else you need.
Re: Sophos EM2 Install on Server 2003 RS (x64) Fails
Could do, could do. But it would still be a retrograde measure. I shall give them a ring and see what their timetable says for a release date.

If you do find out, let us know. I'm interested in doing this in the future (as are others I expect).
Re: Sophos EM2 Install on Server 2003 RS (x64) Fails
Sophos tell me that with all proberbility a 64bit enterprise console will be released with version 3.0 around October\November time.
