have you checked the event logs, can you describe what you see ? ( does it just switch off or does windows close down gracefully?), have you patched dreamweaver?, What operating system are you using?. What are the similarities and differences between the desktops and laptops?
Hi, badrian,
Is the desktop that reboots running Windows XP?
If so, I may be able to help you get up an running pretty painlessly and quickly, but I just need a little information from your system to confirm.
Hi,
Yes I have the same problem like "badrian". I am using windows XP SP2. All other requirements are fine. But my system reboots whenever i double click on the dreamweaver exe file. And sometimes it says "system has shut down". Please Help
Hi king2007,
Sorry to hear you are also having this issue.
Would you be willing to send a system information report and your Windows error logs?
This would help in determining the cause of the issue so we can help get it fixed.
The sysinfo report can be made by doing the following:
1. Choose Start > Run.
2. Type msinfo32 and click OK.
3. In the System Information window, select System Summary on the left.
4. Choose File > Export. Save the text file with a name and to a location with which you are familiar. (E.g. to your Desktop)
The error reports can be retrieved by doing this:
1. Choose Start > Run.
2. Type eventvwr and click OK.
3. Right-click on the System log and choose Save Log File As.
4. Choose to save as Text, and save to a location with which you are familiar.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for the Application log.
Attach these files to your reply so we can review them.
To address Arthur's post, the minimum requirement for Dreamweaver CS5.5 by itself (not in a suite) is XP SP2. See: Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5 | Tech specs
Hello Adobe_ Carey,Are Adobe now starting to monitor the Edugeek forums? If so it might be worth you getting a dedicated support area like Smoothwall and Promethan.
Also can you go back to CS3 and create a proper installer for networks?
Gareth
My friend had the same bug with Dreamweaver 11.5 BSOD on Windows XP SP2.
After installing SP3 and latest Microsoft updates it was fixed and no BSODs anymore.
