Images via Word are different sizes on HP DeskJet v LaserJet
I have an old HP LaserJet 4 and a new HP DeskJet 6940. When I print documents to both of them from MS Word under Windows 2000, the document on the LaserJet 4 is about 6.25 percent larger than the same document on the DeskJet, including both images and text. The size on the newer DeskJet is correct.
I have updated the LaserJet driver to the latest version. I have contacted HP, who claim they no longer support the LaserJet 4 and referred me to FAQ's (none of which address this issue). Also, if I print PCL macros on the LaserJet, they come out the correct size (e.g. a 600 X 600 pixel image prints 2inches X 2inches at 300dpi). The problem must be in the LaserJet 4 driver or how Word is using it.
How can I get Word under Windows 2000 to print documents the correct size on the LaserJet 4?

Its not got it set to the wrong paper size has it so its scaling up / down? over here in the UK (as I see your from over the pond) we often get this with printers being set to Letter by default but using A4 paper so they scale the document to fit, so perhaps your having that problem?

Thanks for the reply. It wasn't an A4/Letter issue, but you got me to think about it from a papersize scaling perspective and I finally found the problem: The Print Processor for my LaserJet 4 was set to hpzpp3xr (whatever that is) -- probably as a result of numerous driver changes. When I set the Print Processor back to WinPrint, miraculously everything now works fine.
Thanks again for jogging my brain.
