Print Software
Is there some sort of print software that we can install on a librarian pcs with see can approve and disapprove print jobs from the networked printer in the library
At the momment the librarians have made it so student have to send their work to the librarys email address. We were told to make the print non networks because we keep getting a load of uncliamed work and loads of copies of them when they didn't go throught and they keep pressing print.
Free would be great!

I don't think it's in the free version, but papercut can do this...

Could you just pause the print queue and approve (un-pause) the items in the queue when the student turns up? The librarian wold need more permissions on the printer though.
This might be wrong, but its been a long day!

+1 for papercut have it deployed for 2000+ users and teacher has to okay the print on printers in areas like the library

You could do a swipe card system, so the students have to go up and approve the print jobs (pcontrol and papercut both have tools for this iirc), you could probably even set it up so they wouldn't need to swipe anything and just approve the job.
