So if a guest speaker or teacher comes to school with their own laptop and it gets dhcp lease you need a cal for this?. I sort of remember from the past that printers need a cal but does anybody bother to buy them?Quote:

You are right but does anybody buy cals on this premis, I guess there will be a lot of under licensed organisations out there.

In this school CC4 was the biggest waste of time and money I have ever known. Poor product sold well!
Long logons, huge minimum PC spec, bloated software... the list is very large but ill save you the hassle. Avoid it!
I don't think that experience is representative of all setups. For example, our CC4 network has about 10 second log on times for Windows XP and 7. Though, saying that, we don't use any RM hardware - that is overpriced.
And even today they cant get ours faster than 3/4 minutes and yet the same hardware logs in within 30 seconds on the admin network.Quote:

Most. Some are P4s, but yes - most are C2D with RAM between 1GB and 4GB. Mixture of IDE and SATA disks.
And that's the biggest issue, it was sold to run on existing hardware and clearly cant in its present state. We unfortunately have some celeron and P4 CPUs in our mix and as a primary school cant afford to replace so many in one go so soon after paying for CC4.Quote:

Oh yes, I am fully aware, hence why it was never incorporated into an upgrade plan. If we were informed we would have never ventured down the CC4 road and this is where I feel we were conned. They knew we couldn't afford CC4 and the hardware upgrade so neglected to inform us and once we had made the jump we found out the hard way.
I have always said the that minimum specs for CC4 are woefully optimistic, something I have pointed out to RM a few times.
Dual core with 2GB ram is a must. Running Vista makes a big improvement as well.
